Euro 2008

Now that the major leagues in Europe has ended, the most anticipated competition of the year is here. I'm talking about Euro 2008. The recently concluded season has seen the blooming of the flower called Cristiano Ronaldo and it's almost a definite that he'll be crowed FIFA world player of the year. (If not i tok...ha yea right, shouldn't be rash to say that...that sounds strangely familiar...now where did I hear it before?!?) The year has also coughed out brilliant players like Torres, Adebayor, Fabregas, Luca Toni and Daniel Guiza. We have also seen the re-emergence of aging players such as Del Piero. As the tournament kicks off, we're all going to witness top talents plying their trade for their beloved countries. (Well for some part, I felt that although England have many world-class players, they don't deserve to qualify, judging from the way they play. OK, I'm an advocate of free-flowing champagne football, so sue me.) It is also going to be a departmental store for clubs in europe as they try to pick up the next top talent. We're going to see the likes of Benzema and Fernando Meira being scruntinized by hawk-eyed scouts and shrewd agents eager to cash in on them. As for the masses like us, we should just grow bigger eye bags and enjoy the show. My prediction: Portugal vs. Holland in the final, with Portugal being crowned champions and Ronaldo player of the tournament. Cometh thy final hour, arise thy greatest players.

I'm somewhat jealous. I've been partially left out again and it seems to happen to me quite a bit.

I want to feel like I belong somewhere but I don't seem to have found it. Always feeling out of place and not good enough in some ways. It feels like I'm watching people and not being involved in the fun or the conversation. It's like watching TV..

I'm trying too hard to fit in, aren't I? I'm trying too hard to be somebody that I'm not? I don't have an ounce of coolness. I'm not smart, I just work hard (sometimes). I don't have an 'edge'. I'm trying to play instruments but I can't. I don't have an ounce of musical talent in me. I'm just plain and ordinary.

But I don't want to be plain and ordinary. I want to be somebody and do something(s). I don't want to settle for plain and/or ordinary. I don't want to have to keep convincing myself that I'm something... It's very tiring...

Darn it! Apologies, if I'm not making any sense. I am having one of those annoying moments and there's a tornado in my head. It's the odd sleeping habits. That must be it...

Nintendo Wii Fit

The introduction of Nintendo Wii Console has certainly set many hardcore gamers into a pleasant surprise, as it was the very first machine that actually allowed games to be played in physical motion rather than controlling all the actions with the handheld console buttons. The motion of your fingers and hands will actually determine the motion on the screen. Nintendo Wii Console is now one of the world’s most popular consoles and their games such the Guitar Hero and Winning Eleven 9 have hooked many of the gamers.

Nintendo Wii and its accessories certainly do not come cheap and many of the games actually require different equipments to maximize the game plays. There is one great website located at Savebuckets.co.uk and one can find many great Nintendo bundle deals there. Customers can easily check the available Wii stocks, consoles, Nintendo DS and Wii games at the cheapest prices on the site and get it delivered to their houses the next day. Do not forget to check out this year’s most popular game, Wii Fit, and this game will definitely bring a lot of fun and entertainment for the whole family.

House of Health (episode 2)

From zero to hero, from fat to fit, from a lump of fats to 6 pacs, all these need time, strength and most importantly determination. Before I went into this fitness programme, I was actually a plump and flabby boy who weighed about 70kg. What actually made me to go into regular gymming is actually peer pressures. My friends kept teasing me about my weight, how fat I was and at first, I was never disturbed by their teasings. However, as time passed by, I realised that my heavy weight was giving me alot of problems. I couldn't play sports as agile as I wanted to, no stamina in running and most importantly, I looked bad in shape. And so, it was in August 2007, I decided to hit the gym, worked it out at home, and got myself into proper dieting. Initially, it was really a torture as I have never gymmed so many days in a week b4 but somehow, I got used to it. I started to do my research on supplements-protein and various type of workouts to get myself shaped up. After half a year of regular gymming, working out at home and protein shakes, I finally see some results on my body. Not that fantastic though but I have gotten what I wanted and my effort had paid off. Let me now share some of my home usual workout with you guys, might not be the best but it works. Try it and you'll know it.

Daily home work-out includes:

  1. 2oo sit ups. For me, I do 100 sit up per set but if you all want, you can try splitting them into 4 sets of 50. It will be good if you do ur sit up slowly and do not try using momentum.
  2. 200 levered push ups. Lift your feets off the ground and hands on the ground shoulder width apart, get your chest as close as to the ground before lifting yourself up. Try in sets of 30.
  3. For those who have a pull up bar at home, you can try using the pull up bar to train ur back muschles and your pecs.
  4. Do squats. Feets apart, tiptoe, body straight and squat down to touch your ankle with your hand. Do 4 sets of 50.
  5. To end your home work out, get yourself into push up position and push yourself down as close as to the floor and stay there for at least 60s before lifting yourself up again. Do it twice and you'll feel good afterwards.

Health tip: Remember, mind over body. Nothing is impossible until you try it.

Dear JASON MRAZ,

I agree with most of the stuff you said about staying healthy. But I have to say, I don't agree that having breakfast should be taken between 630am to 9am. Because what if you happen to be up at 9am? Or 10am? Are you not going to have breakfast then? I heard that it's important to have breakfast as close as possible to the time that you wake up. So, having a designated time for breakfast is unnecessary and unrealistic.

And by the way, you are NOT Jason Mraz...! Imposter!

House of Health (episode 1)

I was invited by Garlic Oyster Chicken to join this blog to contribute and share my knowledge about health and fitness to everyone. Health is very important to everyone, more important than anything else. However in this society, everyone seems to deem money as important as health. In fact, they agree that money weighs much more than health as it can move the world. And in the process of earning money, people neglect their health and end up falling ill and some even die. So, we need to learn how to take care of ourselves before anything else. Let me share some basic health tips with you guys.

Ways to stay healthy:

  1. Get into a habit of waking up early for a morning jog of at least 2 km. Air is the freshest in the wee morning and fresh air makes ur mind clear and active.
  2. It is important to have your breakfast very morning before you leave for work or school. Breakfast must be taken as early as 630 am to at most 9 am. Try to have a glass of water before you consume anything in the morning. Have a good breakfast so that you can start your day fresh and energetic.
  3. Try not to have a heavy lunch and if you are really hungry, have some snacks during teabreak.
  4. Have a light dinner, best come with fish soup or vegetable soup. Strike a balance diet in every meal. An apple a day keeps the doctor away so eat more fruits and try not to eat deep fried food all the time.
  5. No supper as metabolism is least active in the night.
  6. Do not eat anything 3 hours before you sleep.
  7. Sleep early, perhaps around 11 pm and have a minimum 7 hours of sleep everyday.

Remember, your life is in your own hand so treasure it. Okay, that's all for today. I shall post more next time. Till then, see ya!

Where on Earth is Mas Selamat

He could be aniwhere. That's why interpol has issued a worldwide arrest on sight order.
I'm sorry to say but i got a innate urge to always support the underdog. Dun arrest me.

Random Fact: In the past the Catholic Church said sex btw married couples was sinful. Is it any wonder why people decided to be methodists.

SIngapore's Number One Fugitive

The latest news buzzing around Singapore is that of the great escape by the Singaporean JI leader Mas Selamat Bin Kastari. This is a sudden departure from the usual news where house fires, budgets, GST and the occasional neighbour spats are the norm. How a man who's short and walks with a limp on his left leg can escape a high security detention centre has been fodder and food for thought during lunch time banter. The official excuse for his escape is due to a "security lapse". Authorities found out that he was missing when he went to the toilet and disappeared before meeting his family. This resulted in a large man hunt for him. The islandwide manhunt has fanned out to areas in Beauty World in Upper Bukit Timah and Goldhill Avenue near Barker Road.

The occurance of this incident is sure to have repecussions and it will dent the reputation of Singapore's security and reputation as a "safe haven". Hopefully, he would be caught soon to limit the damages done. May this psychological blow to the battle against terrorism not harp our progress and on-going fight against terror, and instead cause us to be more vigilant and not take Singapore's security and safety for granted.

Giggs at Home

Ryan Giggs is one of the greatest footballers never to have ever played in a world cup. He's a left winger who plays for Manchester United. In my youth, he's my idol and the person whom I inspired to be. Here's a funny advertisment of him playing in his garden. In the near future I'll do a write-up on him and his achievements. For now, please watch and laugh! :)

Brand New Year - Virgin Post

Hi there,

I'm here with my virgin post at last, after much persuasion from Hide haha. Nothing particularly exciting to post about at the moment, but just some thoughts for this brand new year. Happened to come across an article online which mentioned that Jan 26 is actually the sadest day of the year where it is unusually cold for most places, New year resolutions are broken, no more gifts and back to work for all. Every word on that article speaks the bitter truth about most of the people and i personally think that if most people are doing what they are exactly doing the year before and they will certainly achieve the same stuff as before. So new sets of actions are needed to work towards your new goals and resolutions. So its time to change!

Here are some motivational quotes for all:

Never wait endlessly for the perfect time and conclusive condition before you begin.

He who controls others may be powerful but he who has mastered himself is mightier still.

A glorious vision minus a viable plan is merely a pipe dream.

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Blessed is the man who is too busy to worry in the day and too sleepy to worry at night.

The grass is greener on the other side but it still has to be mowed.

Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how i react to it.

Many people failed not because of the lack of means but rather the lack of application of what they do have.

Well, talking a bit of my life and year 2007 was certainly the darkest yet the brightest time of my life. An illness came and nearly took everything from me. Helps were there but with no exact solutions for my problems. Everyone went on with their busy lifestyles and life seemed to have stopped for me at that moment. But God is there all along. I began picking up more scriptural books to read and His words certainly open up and connect to every point of my life and telling me the journey that I have missed in my life. In my darkest period, I lost everything but I found God again. His undivided Love even when I fell deep impacted so much on me that I took the decision to get baptized finally. With his mercy and guidance, I’m back to my health now and pretty much scoring and back to form (I hope) =p And to sum up, God has been great for me and a few days recovery from my cornea infection/scratches (usually takes 2-6 months to heal) and a recovery from my back disc problem (no doctor can solve it for now) will take nothing less than a miracle and His healing touch.

Though tragedy, heartache, and sorrow abound
And many a hardship in life will be found,
Just put all your trust in the Savior of light,
For He can bring hope in the darkest of night.

Take care dudes and cya around. Till then =)

~Happy Valentines Day!~ 2008

To all our readers, we wish you and your partner a Happy Valentines Day!

On a side note, some history... "Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14. In North America and Europe, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished." (Exept taken from wikipedia)

C.Ronaldo vs Bugatti Veyron

This is the most recent advertisment for nike's mercurial vapour IV football boots. Due to the heavy competition between nike and adidas to jostle for fans and customers, their commercials and advertisments have always been intriguing and sometimes downright funny. This nike ad features Cristiano Ronaldo competing against a Bugatti Veyron on a 45m race! Wonder if I could beat an aston martin if I wore those boots. Please enjoy!

A New Beginning

Its a new year, a new beginning. With it comes all the tears and elation from yesteryear. Are we going to push our boundaries or enclose within the enclave of yesterday? What would life bring? Sadness or joy? Darkness or light, it'll all come to an end. Are we going to live as we are? Or will we become a better and improved version from yesterday? "What gives?", you might ask. Life will only be as good and fulfilled as you feel and think. If you believe that life is just a swirl of endless misery spiralling into darkness, it'll be exactly as what you believed. If you believe life is a trial filled with both sadness and happiness, but enough joy and positiveness to pierce through steel, it'll be it. Most importantly, life will always be meaningful if we're to continue learning, no matter our age and abilities. Life is beautiful.

Welcome to JOSH Part 2

I know that Josh had been introduced before but I feel that the intro was kind of short. Like what GOC said, he's one of those who likes to nudge you when he's offline(which I do all the time too :P), but in real life he's a kind and nice person. I also believe that he's the best finisher in Team Sausage Fest(aka Pussies).

As for his expertise, I think he's going to give news and information on soccer and general stuff about living and how to lead a fulfilling and eventful life. Let's all wait in anticipation and bated breath for his first post.

Welcome to JOSH

Here's yet another member whch we hope would save this blog for the 6th or 7th time.....

Josh is one of those irritating people on msn, who nudge you constantly and then go offline. He will probably be our resident soccer expert, offering soccer news etc..... He is a lethal striker and a deadly taekwando fighter. We wish him all the best and may he post more than the rest of us combined, which means 2 posts.

Singapore is Asia's happiest country?

Recently it came out in the news that Singapore is the happiest place in Asia(Please note that I mentioned Asia and not the world). This is a topic open to debate, as we live in a country that aims for the highest standards, and this puts tremendous pressure on each and everyone of us, but I do feel that Singapore has her merits and I do cherish the happy memories and opportunities that this country has given me. As all(or at least most) of us are Singaporeans, I would like you, fellow readers(foreigners are welcome too), to share your opinion on this.

It's so disgusting that I've got a slight sense of jealousy and I'm hoping that maybe I might be remembered. That maybe people might want to know what I've been up to and be at least a wee bit interested in having me around. Hoping that I am in those pictures with the people I used to be close to. Having a lifestyle that I detest, but secretly want because it means I can be that bit closer to you. My my... Such disgusting, self-centered thoughts. That desire to fit in, makes me sick.

I'm technically not suppose to care and think too much into things. I thought I was done with you people. Done hoping. Done being disappointed. Done questioning, wondering why and trying to explain your actions and words. But damn! That one message, one attempt to contact me...

I'm a complete wreck...

Bill Bailey

A comedian who tells jokes and plays (as I've seen so far) the piano and guitar. Fantastic pianist and a funny English man. Here's one of my favourite videos of him messing with classical music.

You can find out more about him on Wikipedia and/or his Official Website.

Yearly Christmas light-up at Orchard Road 07

Hi! Here are some pictures I took while at Orchard Road during Christmas time. Sorry for the blur pictures though, cause I was using a camera phone.

Don't you really want to eat him? :P

Wonder how long is he gonna stand there... ...

Nice? My backyard Christmas Tree.

Guess the devil left his harp in Singapore when he descended to hell.

This is the weight I use, in case my car flies off.
