Euro 2008

Now that the major leagues in Europe has ended, the most anticipated competition of the year is here. I'm talking about Euro 2008. The recently concluded season has seen the blooming of the flower called Cristiano Ronaldo and it's almost a definite that he'll be crowed FIFA world player of the year. (If not i tok...ha yea right, shouldn't be rash to say that...that sounds strangely familiar...now where did I hear it before?!?) The year has also coughed out brilliant players like Torres, Adebayor, Fabregas, Luca Toni and Daniel Guiza. We have also seen the re-emergence of aging players such as Del Piero. As the tournament kicks off, we're all going to witness top talents plying their trade for their beloved countries. (Well for some part, I felt that although England have many world-class players, they don't deserve to qualify, judging from the way they play. OK, I'm an advocate of free-flowing champagne football, so sue me.) It is also going to be a departmental store for clubs in europe as they try to pick up the next top talent. We're going to see the likes of Benzema and Fernando Meira being scruntinized by hawk-eyed scouts and shrewd agents eager to cash in on them. As for the masses like us, we should just grow bigger eye bags and enjoy the show. My prediction: Portugal vs. Holland in the final, with Portugal being crowned champions and Ronaldo player of the tournament. Cometh thy final hour, arise thy greatest players.

I'm somewhat jealous. I've been partially left out again and it seems to happen to me quite a bit.

I want to feel like I belong somewhere but I don't seem to have found it. Always feeling out of place and not good enough in some ways. It feels like I'm watching people and not being involved in the fun or the conversation. It's like watching TV..

I'm trying too hard to fit in, aren't I? I'm trying too hard to be somebody that I'm not? I don't have an ounce of coolness. I'm not smart, I just work hard (sometimes). I don't have an 'edge'. I'm trying to play instruments but I can't. I don't have an ounce of musical talent in me. I'm just plain and ordinary.

But I don't want to be plain and ordinary. I want to be somebody and do something(s). I don't want to settle for plain and/or ordinary. I don't want to have to keep convincing myself that I'm something... It's very tiring...

Darn it! Apologies, if I'm not making any sense. I am having one of those annoying moments and there's a tornado in my head. It's the odd sleeping habits. That must be it...

Nintendo Wii Fit

The introduction of Nintendo Wii Console has certainly set many hardcore gamers into a pleasant surprise, as it was the very first machine that actually allowed games to be played in physical motion rather than controlling all the actions with the handheld console buttons. The motion of your fingers and hands will actually determine the motion on the screen. Nintendo Wii Console is now one of the world’s most popular consoles and their games such the Guitar Hero and Winning Eleven 9 have hooked many of the gamers.

Nintendo Wii and its accessories certainly do not come cheap and many of the games actually require different equipments to maximize the game plays. There is one great website located at Savebuckets.co.uk and one can find many great Nintendo bundle deals there. Customers can easily check the available Wii stocks, consoles, Nintendo DS and Wii games at the cheapest prices on the site and get it delivered to their houses the next day. Do not forget to check out this year’s most popular game, Wii Fit, and this game will definitely bring a lot of fun and entertainment for the whole family.

House of Health (episode 2)

From zero to hero, from fat to fit, from a lump of fats to 6 pacs, all these need time, strength and most importantly determination. Before I went into this fitness programme, I was actually a plump and flabby boy who weighed about 70kg. What actually made me to go into regular gymming is actually peer pressures. My friends kept teasing me about my weight, how fat I was and at first, I was never disturbed by their teasings. However, as time passed by, I realised that my heavy weight was giving me alot of problems. I couldn't play sports as agile as I wanted to, no stamina in running and most importantly, I looked bad in shape. And so, it was in August 2007, I decided to hit the gym, worked it out at home, and got myself into proper dieting. Initially, it was really a torture as I have never gymmed so many days in a week b4 but somehow, I got used to it. I started to do my research on supplements-protein and various type of workouts to get myself shaped up. After half a year of regular gymming, working out at home and protein shakes, I finally see some results on my body. Not that fantastic though but I have gotten what I wanted and my effort had paid off. Let me now share some of my home usual workout with you guys, might not be the best but it works. Try it and you'll know it.

Daily home work-out includes:

  1. 2oo sit ups. For me, I do 100 sit up per set but if you all want, you can try splitting them into 4 sets of 50. It will be good if you do ur sit up slowly and do not try using momentum.
  2. 200 levered push ups. Lift your feets off the ground and hands on the ground shoulder width apart, get your chest as close as to the ground before lifting yourself up. Try in sets of 30.
  3. For those who have a pull up bar at home, you can try using the pull up bar to train ur back muschles and your pecs.
  4. Do squats. Feets apart, tiptoe, body straight and squat down to touch your ankle with your hand. Do 4 sets of 50.
  5. To end your home work out, get yourself into push up position and push yourself down as close as to the floor and stay there for at least 60s before lifting yourself up again. Do it twice and you'll feel good afterwards.

Health tip: Remember, mind over body. Nothing is impossible until you try it.
